Maeve A. Devoy the author will take the students through The Hero's Journey- a classic guide to writing adventure stories. She will detail each stage of the form and provide literary examples, before the students create their own heroes and set off on their own adventures. Focused on fun and creativity, this workshop promises to leave the students with a tried and tested remedy for the stories they want to tell.
Portlaoise Library are hosting an online creative writing workshop for 6th Class on Thursday 17th February at 10am for 90 minutes.

6th Class takes place every Tuesday during lunch time and 5th Class every Thursday during lunch time Catholic Schools Week starts from Monday 24th January to Friday January 28th
The Theme this year is Living Life to the Full. Parent/teacher meetings will commence on
Monday 31st January for Junior Infants. Tuesday 1st for 1st Class. Wednesday 2nd for 4th Class. Thursday 3rd for 3rd Class. Friday 4th for 2nd Class. Monday 7th for 5th Class Tuesday 8th for 6th Class. Senior Infant meetings will take place at a later date this term as Ms. Bergin has only recently started teaching the class. Parents should note the day of their child's meetings and book a slot via our school's Aladdin App. Please note that meetings will take place via phone call from the school mobile (086-1806094) and parents should ensure that they will be available at the given time. Meetings are for a maximum of ten minutes and teachers will have to adhere to this timeframe to ensure other parents are not left waiting. No doubt as meetings proceed through the day there may be some loss of time however teachers will do their best to keep this to a minimum. Meetings can be booked in through the Aladdin app and slots will bookings can be made from Monday 24th January. Our next Debate takes place on Monday 24th January at 11am against Scoil Mhuire in Lismacken
