5th Class will visit Donaghmore Famine Museum on Thursday 27th February. The bus will leave at 9.50am and return at approximately 12.30pm. The cost is €8 per child
4th Class will attend a Matinee Performance of Portlaoise College 2020 Talent Show on Thursday 27th February at 10am. The bus will leave at 9.30am and return at approximately 12.30. The cost is €5 per child.
Congratulations to Lucy Browne in 5th class who is our 2020 School Champion.
Lucy will represent our school in the Laois Final in Portarlington on Thursday 27th Februaryin Portarlingon. We wish her the best of luck. Well done to all our finalists who include Luke, Eamon, Jack, Georgia, James, Harry and Evan from 6th Class and Max, Oisin, Catherine, Arina and Myah from 5th class. Thanks to everyone who voted in our Election last Friday. On the 4th count, Jack Hefferenan from I.S.A Gold was deemed our winner. We will meet with Mr. O' Brien this week to talk about his manifesto.
The school will be closed from Monday 17th February to Friday 21st February for Mid-Term break. The school will re-open on Monday 24th at 9am
Chess has been taking place every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime since Christmas for 3rd -6th classes. It will conclude in the coming weeks.
Class draught tournaments are also taking place at the moment in all classes from 1st-6th and the top players from each class will contest the school championship in the coming weeks Sports Hall Athletics takes place for 1st/2nd class for 4 weeks in the Rock School from Tuesday 21st January. The cost is €12 per child for the 4 weeks.
1st Class @ 10am Bus leaves at 9.35am 2nd Class @11am. Bus leaves at 10.35am 6th Class Debating Club will take place in Ballyfin at 10am on Thursday 13th February. The bus will return at approximately 12pm.
Hurling and Camogie for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class continues at Big Break on Friday. Beginners Welcome
