This week we are running art competitions based on books. You can design a book cover, a bookmark, draw a scene from your favourite book or draw your favourite character. Entry sheets are available in all classes today. The closing date is this FRIDAY.

Welcome to Reading Month. We have lots of activities planned but our biggest goal is to read for 50,000 minutes this month. We will have DEAR time every day after little lunch. Sponsorship cards were distributed last month and should be returned by this Friday December 3rd.
We also hope you enjoy our online Book Fair As part of reading month Flash Light Friday will take place every Friday in 3rd Class This weeks reading club will be for 6th Class Our 6th Class Debating Team, (Eva, Hafsah, James, Kate, Emily and Molly) oppose the motion "We need to pay more for our clothes to fight Fast Fashion". They will debate against Newtown National School on Thursday 2nd December via Zoom at 11.45am.  School will be closed on Monday 29th November due to a staff In-Service Day
Laois Local Enterprise Office is offering a Free ,one hour Enterprise Awareness workshop to our current 6th class.
The aim of the workshop is to show the 6th class pupils that they all have the ability to come up with a business idea and that the very things they learn at school and their inherent abilities can make them a successful business person. The workshop is delivered in the school on Tuesday 30th November from 11.30am-12.30pm. Dear parents
The Parents Council will hold their AGM online this year due to the rising numbers of covid in our community. It will take place on Thursday the 2nd of December at 7.30pm. Please join us and hear all about the work that your Parents council have delivered in the last 12 months in support of The Heath NS and its pupils. We are actively looking for parents to join as we have some current members standing down and fresh faces with fresh ideas are always welcome. 5th/6th Class Cross Country takes place every Tuesday at 1pm 3rd/4th Class Cross Country takes place every Wednesday at 1pm 1st/2nd Class Cross Country takes place every Thursday at 1pm Please ensure that your child has spare runners 1st Class are doing 60 minutes of Fun Physical activity every day during the month of November. They have a log book to register their daily activities. At the end they will receive a Lets Get Active Certificate from the Irish Heart Foundation.
