Agreed Report from the Board of Management 3/12/2025
  • The Board members attended their second Board of Management meeting for The Heath NS this school year.
  • The Board ratified two new policies for the school (Pupil Mobile Phone/Smart Devices/Wearables Policy and Work Experience Policy) Both policies are available on the website under school information.
  • Junior Infant enrolment is complete. There were over fifty applications for next September and twenty five places were offered.
  • The school's special class building project was granted planning permission by Laois County Council. The school will now apply for a Disability Access Certificate and a Fire Safety Certificate.
  • The Board are grateful to the family of the late Seamus Holland who made a donation of €5,000 to the school from the funds remaining from the fundraising organised for Seamus's treatment. 

Board of Management October News

Agreed Report from the Board of Management 15/10/2025
  • The Board members attended their first Board of Management meeting for The Heath NS for this school year.
  • The school's Code of Behaviour was reviewed by the Board of Management. 
  • The school accounts again took up considerable time at the meeting. The accounts for 24/25 were reviewed and the Board agreed a budget out of necessity for the current school year.
  • The school's special class building project has progressed and a planning application was lodged in September with Laois County Council.
  • The Board are grateful to local councillors Paschal McEvoy and Vivienne Phelan for organising the installation of ramps and improved road signage outside the school. 

Board of Management June News

Agreed Report from the Board of Management 25/6/2025
  • The Board members attended their last Board of Management meeting for The Heath NS for this school year.
  • The following policies were reviewed and ratified by the Board of Management:
          New Bí Cinéalta (Anti-bullying policy)
  • The school accounts were discussed in detail. The Board was unable to finalise a budget for the new year due to the inadequacy of day to day funding. 
  • The Board of Management acknowledged the contribution of the Parents Council to the school during the 24/25 school year.
  • The Board of Management acknowledged the work of the staff during the year.
  • The school's special class building project is expected to progress during the summer with the lodging of a planning application. The Board hope to have the building completed open in September 2027.
