Coicís na Gaeilge will be starting in Scoil an Fhraoich Mhóir on the 6th of March. Some of the events are: a concert, green day, a writing competition, a poster competition, and a spelling bee. We hope that every child will make a big effort to speak Gaeilge, and there will be lots of prizes!!! If you would like help or ideas for your own Gaeilge or using it at home, get in touch with Ms Mc D at any time. Broken Irish is better than clever English!
Bhain muid uilig fior-thaitneamh as Seachtain (Mí!) na Gaeilge. Bhí neart imeachtaí ar siúl: comórtas póstaeir, comórtas litríochta, comórtas scríbhneoireachta, tráth na gceist bord, agus beidh ceolchoirm ar súil an Aoine beag seo chun slán a rá le mí na Gaeilge. Rinne chuile páiste a ndícheall níos mó Gaeilge a úsáid. Mar a dúirt mé leo, sé an rud is tábhachtaí ná IARRACHT a dhéanamh. Is cuma sa diabhal faoi chúrsaí gramadaí i ndáríre, fad is atá páistí ag déanamh iarracht a dteanga féin a labhairt. Tá muid ag tnúth go mór leis an ceolchoirm. Go dtí an chéad Mí na Gaeilge eile, cuimhnígí gur fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste!
We all enjoyed Gaeilge week (month!) There were plenty of events on: poster competitions, spelling competitions, writing competitions, table quizzes, and there will be a concert on this Friday to say goodbye to Gaeilge month. Every child did their best to use more Gaeilge. As I said to them, the most important thing is to make an EFFORT. Grammar doesn't really matter as long as children are making the effort to use their own language. We're really looking forward to the concert on Friday. Until the next Mí na Gaeilge, remember that even a bit of Gaeilge is better than the fanciest of English! :)
