Beach Book Bargains

3rd class are running a school fundraiser called Beach Book Bargains. They are currently collecting books in good condition for a book sale. Tell your neighbours and friends or anyone in the area that might like to donate books or get some new ones!
They will be selling books every morning and afternoon at the front of the school (weather permitting) from 9 – 12th June. Just in time for the holidays!
This is a big responsibility for 3rd class and they are so excited to have organised this by themselves. Clear out your shelves, grab a new book for your suitcase and support our school!

Multi Cultural Day

4 schools within our locality have joined forces to celebrate diversity and culture within our schools. 25% of our school population in the Heath National School share another heritage.
As part of the project all staff have attended a CPD event, sourced signing for the school in additional languages and are organising an event to celebrate culture within their schools.
The Heath will celebrate on June 11th where all classes will learn about other countries represented in our school community and hear languages spoken. A number of parents have volunteered to assist us with 5th and 6th classes also lending their support.

Fundamental Movement Skills

As part of the 6th class leadership programme, they will take part in the Junior and Senior Infant PE. 6th class will give lessons to Junior and Senior Infant focussing on Fundamental Movement Skills. The PE will take place every Wednesday from 11.20am-12.20am

Photo Exhibion

On Wednesday, June 18th at 7 pm, our talented 2nd class students will proudly showcase their own "A Day in the Life of 2nd Class" photography exhibition. This heartfelt project, brought to life through the Creative Clusters arts funding initiative, was inspired by a similar exhibition from 6th class students in our school over 35 years ago. Ms Fennelly's class were given a disposable camera to capture their world—before school, during school, and after school—without filters or editing, and had just 27 photos to preserve memories.
Each student selected six photos, which have been beautifully framed and captioned by themselves. These snapshots will offer a window into school life in 2025 and may one day serve as a charming time capsule of life at the Heath School.
We welcome all families to visit the exhibition—come enjoy their creativity, see the world through their eyes, and celebrate a lovely evening of student artistry!

Blue/White Day

Blue and White Day takes place on Friday 6th June. Children can wear Blue and White instead of their school uniform. With our Laois hurling heroes in the Joe MacDonagh Final on Sunday the 8th of June, we want to show them how much we support them.
