The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment advises the Minister for Education on the content of the primary school curriculum. At present the primary school curriculum is undergoing a period of change. The first change was in the area of language with the introduction of the Primary Language Curriculum. The second change is the introduction of a Primary Curriculum Framework which re-works some of the subjects and areas of study. The third change, which is currrently being introduced, is the Primary Mathematics Curriculum.
