The month of November is reading month. The school encourages children and parents to get reading for the month. Activities in school will include book swaps, daily challenges, quizzes and paired reading. With regard to the paired reading in the infant classes, junior and senior infant parents are invited to come in on the four Thursdays in November from 9.00 – 9.20 to read with their child.
As part of Reading Month the Students Council have organised a book club, which may be timely! All pupils will relieve a brochure today, and parents , if they wish , can order online using the link https://schools.scholastic.ie/heath-n/digital-book-club
The school receives 20c from every euro spent which helps us finance a revamp of our library and the books, especially the packs are usually good value.
There are lots of other in school activities organised too for the pupils to enjoy. Next week we are doing small competition - guess the number of pages in a wrapped book - to raise money for prizes for various reading month art and writing competitions.
